Agnes Ida Pettersen is an Oslo-based composer, mainly working with acoustic contemporary music. Agnes finds inspiration from the musicians and ensembles she writes for and often bases her compositions on the strengths and specialties of whom the music is written for. While she often writes for traditional ensembles, she likes to include contemporary use of the instruments in order to find just the right sound. Agnes also composes music for various stage productions, creates electro-acoustic projects, with a wide variety of expressions and methods. Her music has been performed by notable ensembles such as The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, ICE, Arctic Philharmonic Sinfonietta, Vokal Nord, Ensemble Mise-En and more.
