Alina Maldonado is a violinist and composer whose work intertwines free improvisation and electroacoustic composition. She explores violin traditional and extended techniques in combination with electronics to create rich texture and noise. Questioning herself about her classical training as a musician and delving into sensations, identity and the limits of musical language, her work pursues a nomadic aesthetic where improvisation has a relevant role. She is active in Mexico City’s experimental music scene and constantly collaborating with other disciplines that inspire her music making. She recently received the coveted 'Best Original Music' Award in The National Dance Awards "Guillermo Arriaga" 2019.
