Gonzalo Varela is a Uruguayan composer, sound designer and audio programmer currently living in the United States. He has made music for video games, films, television and theatre plays, as well as concert music that has been played in more than ten countries. He has held teaching positions at three universities and received awards from Uruguay's Ministry of Education and Culture, Fulbright, the Uruguayan Choral Association and Columbia College Chicago among others.

Golden Hornet Austin, Texas Golden Hornet is a non-profit which commissions new music, fosters young and emerging composers, and presents adventurous works in non-traditional settings. Led by Artistic Director Graham Reynolds and Managing Director Kate Murray. All purchases support our programming.
