Saúl was born in Argentina. His mother played piano quite well. Instinctively he began to compose very simple melodies at 10 years. At 15 he learned to play accordion, and performed in the band of his secondary school. After finishing school, he began to play accordion in a quintet. At the same time, he studied harmony with Carlos García, who heard some compositions of Saúl, and introduced him to Astor Piazzolla, who, after listening Saúl works, always made corrections in them. Piazzolla encouraged Saúl to study Composition and Orchestration. In 1970, at Piazzolla’s home, Saúl played his “Tango barroco” (Baroque tango) for him and Astor said, “This is the first time I can’t make any corrections.” During these years Saul has recorded 20 CDs in Argentina.
