Sebastian Anthony Birch, a native of Ohio, was brought up in Italy where he began his musical training. He holds a master’s degree in music from Cleveland State University and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied with Donald Erb. 

The song cycle, Trois Chansons, was performed at the New Music and Art Festival in Bowling Green, Ohio. Detectio Sonoris for flute and piano has been released on the Phasma Music label.
